Dating from medieval times Mowsley has lots of charm and many beautiful homes.

Mowsley is a small village of around 300 people. The name 'Mowsley' means 'mouse field', so presumably at one time it must have been riddled with the creatures. Luckily now they are nowhere to be seen.

There are no shops but in the modern world that's not a great inconvenience for the majority of people. The nearest shop is a small supermarket in Husbands Bosworth.

There is a pub - The Staff of Life - which is very welcoming and I can say from multiple first-hand experiences that the food is consistent and excellent.

The Staff of Life is a lovely pub which serves the most beautiful food.

There is no village school anymore (it closed in 2010) but there is a nearby school in Husbands Bosworth which my step-son attended and which is really good.

Also nearby in Husbands Bosworth there is a new medical centre and the gliding club. There are golf courses, leisure centres and gyms in both Market Harborough and Lutterworth. There are fantastic eateries in both towns, and in the villages.

Like its neighbouring villages Mowsley’s location makes getting around the country really easy, with the M1, A14, M6 and the midland mainline only a short drive away. Likewise both East Midlands and Birmingham airports are around a 40 minute drive.
