A truly pretty little village.

Theddingworth appears in the Domesday Book (where it's listed as having 38 inhabitants) but its origins appear to be lost in the mists of time. We do know that it's always been a small village, and remains so today. Attached to the bottom of it is an even smaller little hamlet called Hothorpe, which consists of a couple of houses and Hothorpe Hall, a Georgian manor house which now operates as a wedding venue and country retreat and which has a rather intriguing treehouse that has been fitted out like a luxury apartment.

There are no shops, school or pub in Theddingworth, but it's excellent location on the main road between Market Harborough and Lutterworth makes everything you could reasonably want on a normal day very accessible. Children attend the school at Husbands Bosworth just up the road, where there is also a doctor's surgery. There are excellent eateries in the surrounding villages, the nearest being the Coach and Horses in Lubenham and the Staff of Life in Mowsley, both of which serve excellent food.

You can be in Market Harborough in about ten minutes, shopping, eating, or hopping on the train to St Pancras.

Its fortunes have waxed and waned over the centuries but these days it’s a quiet place with no shops and just one pub - the Red Lion, which is highly-rated for its food and extensive wine list. However its excellent location means that you’re able to enjoy this peaceful rural living with none of the inconvenience as you’re no more than 15 minutes away by car from all sorts of activities.

Nearby in Husbands Bosworth there is a shop, a pub, a doctor’s surgery and the gliding club. There are golf courses, leisure centres, gyms and an array of supermarkets in both Market Harborough and Lutterworth.

Like its neighbouring villages Theddingworth’s ideal location makes getting around the country really easy, with the M1, A14, M6 and the midland mainline only a short drive away. Likewise both East Midlands and Birmingham airports are around a 40 minute drive.
